THE Brisbane Bullets basketball team are heading to the Fraser Coast.
The professional outfit will hold a summer camp in Hervey Bay early next year.
Hervey Bay Basketball President Matt Baker said the camp would take place in Sunday 15 January 2023 – catering for players aged five to adults.
Matt said the having professional players visit the region was an exciting opportunity.
“Local players will be able to engage with members of other teams and take their game to the next level through the intensive coaching sessions”, he said.
The summer camp sessions are expected to be a hit considering the increased popularity in the sport.
“Basketball in booming in our region with close to 600 players now taking part in weekly games.
“This exciting summer camp comes on the back of recent news of funding for a new stadium from Fraser Coast Regional Council, which is expected to start construction mid to late next year.
“The new stadium will enable us to host even more of these types of development activities and enhance the skills of local players and coaches well into the future,” Matt continued.
The Brisbane Bullets are running five sessions over the day to cater for a range of ages and abilities:
- 9:00am to 11:00am – Big Shots Session (beginners to basketball ages 5 to 11) – $70.
