One of the event organisers, Luke Strochnetter from 360 Degrees Marketing said excitement was growing by the day as we approach the festive season.

“The community is excited to gather once again, have fun and just celebrate Christmas as one big Hervey Bay family. Social media reactions suggest we could be in for one of the biggest carols evenings in years,” explained Luke.

“We have been planning the event since April as there are just so many different elements and facets to ensure it’s a success.”

Luke said the event – presented by the Hervey Bay Christian Ministers Association – was always a great family night out.

“What I love the most is that this event is free, thanks to the Hervey Bay RSL and all our sponsors. Most families do not need to spend a cent.

“You can bring along a picnic or choose to support some of the many local food vendors. We have chosen not to have rides, activities or market stalls the last few years, as we want everyone to have the same experience on the night, irrespective of your financial situation.”

Luke said the evening was all about friends, family, singing, dancing and having fun as a community.

Luke urged people to look into using transport services, carpooling or walk to Seafront Oval.

“Approximately 6,000 people attend every year, so there are lot of cars in the precinct.

“The fewer cars the better.”

Traffic

The Esplanade from the Main Street roundabout to Taylor Street is expected to be closed to traffic from 3pm.

“Come on down early to secure a good spot, bring a rug and some chairs and have a great evening out as a community,” said Luke.
