AUSTRALIA’s growing low’n’slow barbecue movement has caught the attention of a Hervey Bay seafood bar and grill, with the venue adding Low’n’Slow BBQ Sunday Sessions to its weekly roster.

Hervey Bay’s award-winning team The Low’n’Slow BBQ Shack can now be found cooking up a storm at Seafront Seafood every Sunday.

The introduction of the Sunday sessions adds another element to the Fraser Coast’s unique foodie scene.
Seafront Seafood owner Jay Hodmain said he invited The Low’n’Slow BBQ Shack to join his team after recognising the popularity of the cooking style.
“We could see that classic low’n’slow BBQ dishes like beef brisket and pulled pork would pair really well with our craft beers, wines and cocktails at Seafront Seafood,” explained Jay.

“So we thought, why not put on a Low’n’Slow BBQ Sunday Sesh with live music in our beer garden every weekend?
“I was delighted when The Low’n’Slow BBQ Shack guys accepted our invitation to join us for our Sunday sessions and the response from our patrons has been fantastic.”

Jay said people walking past the Shack’s trailer-mounted offset BBQ pit have commented on the mouth-watering aromas – and those aromas are translating into delicious barbeque dishes.
“They’ve become very popular,” he said.
Beer garden
With WetSide Water Park open again for the summer months right next to the beer garden, families are enjoying an outing that provides kids entertainment on the water slides and new Aqua Ninja obstacle course – followed by kids’ sliders, delicious barbeque meals and live music every Sunday.
Add to that cool cocktails for the parents and you’ve found yourself the perfect way to finish up the weekend.
Low’n’Slow BBQ Shack Pitmaster Denis Maher said they’d been looking for a new venue when Jay contacted them.
“We are delighted to be able to cook and serve our low’n’slow barbeque dishes at Seafront Seafood,” Denis said.
“The cruisy vibe in the beer garden with WetSide Water Park open next door and local and interstate musicians performing every Sunday is very special.
Relaxed environment
“It’s a relaxing environment which pairs well with our barbeque cuisine.
