THE Fraser Coast Regional Council is urging people who’re interested in working as lifeguards, swimming teachers and fitness instructors at its aquatic facilities to put their hands up.

Council will host a ‘Try Then Apply Day’ at WetSide Water Park on Monday, 24 October – between 10am and 1pm.

Potential employees will be able to talk to current staff about what they do, tour WetSide and do instant interviews.
While Council has recruited new lifeguards, Director for Development and Community Gerard Carlyon said more staff were needed at WetSide and the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Aquatic Centres.
“Council has a range of roles available including lifeguards, swimming teachers and fitness instructors,” Mr Carlyon said.

“We are looking for fit and motivated people who are available for an immediate start. If you have good people skills and a passion for fun but safe waterplay, then come on down to the ‘Try Then Apply Day’ later this month or apply online now.
“With Council offering training support, this is a great opportunity to get new qualifications and work in a flexible and fun outdoor environment.
“This could be perfect for someone wanting to balance casual work with their uni studies, looking for flexible arrangements during school hours or who is semi-retired, to name just a few examples.”
