FRASER Coast Mayor George Seymour has paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II following her passing in Scotland yesterday.

A statement from the Royal Family confirmed the sad news, saying “the Queen died peacefully at Balmoral.”

Cr Seymour said Her Majesty was a source of inspiration, stability and strength for millions of people over her seven-decade reign.
“Her strong and stoic leadership in times of great change and anxiety has provided much needed stability,” Cr Seymour continued.

“We have seen in her the model of living with grace, dignity and determination.
“History will remember the kindness, compassion and strength of Queen Elizabeth II.”
Meanwhile, tributes to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II have been made across the world.
The King said the death of his mother was a moment of the greatest sadness for him and his whole family.
“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved Mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the Realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”
New UK Prime Minister Liz Truss said Queen Elizabeth was the rock on which modern Britain was built.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Her Majesty’s passing was a loss felt by all Australians.
“Australian hearts go out to the people of the United Kingdom who mourn today, knowing they will feel they have lost part of what makes their nation whole,” Mr Albanese said in a statement.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she was deeply saddened at the news.
Leader of the Liberal Party of Australia Peter Dutton said “an extraordinary life which touched so many has sadly come to an end.”
Wide Bay MP Llew O’Brien described the Queen as a “remarkable woman.”
Hinkler MP Keith Pitt Queen Elizabeth II was a constant source of strength for people across Australia and the Commonwealth.
