The Spring 2022 Climate and Water Outlook suggested the chance of La Nina returning this spring had increased to around 70 per cent.
Parts of the Fraser Coast have already flooded more than once this year.
Forecasters said further rainfall could increase the risk of flooding in areas where soils and catchments remain wet and streamflows are high.
BOM urged people to keep an eye on its website and weather app for official forecasts and warnings.
Fraser Coast locals can also receive weather updates via the Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Disaster Dashboard.
