The van will help library staff tour the region, with the goal of taking fun learning and literacy opportunities to the wider community.
Regional Librarian Tara Webb said staff members were looking forward to connecting with more children across the region and helping them succeed.
“During the first few years of life, more than a million new connections are forming in children’s brains every second,” she said.
“Sharing stories, talking, singing and playing with youngsters from birth builds a strong foundation for their future development and delivers benefits which can last a lifetime.”

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said Council was excited about the mobile library service.
“Library staff will visit families far and wide in our local communities with books, toys and other items to borrow; and host fun activities or participate in community events to promote the benefits of reading, singing, talking and playing with children,” Cr Seymour said.
“Our aim is to improve the literacy skills of all youngsters in our community and provide opportunities and access to resources to those families who may not be able to visit one of our five library branches.
“We also hope it will inspire a love of reading in families and encourage a sense of belonging and community involvement.”
