FLOODING: Granville Bridge likely to remain open

THE Mary River is expected to peak at around 5.3m at high tide today – just over the minor flood level.

The Granville Bridge is expected to remain open, as flooding along the Mary River at Gympie and Tiaro begins to recede.

Forecasters with the Bureau of Meteorology said this morning that major flooding at Tiaro and moderate flooding at Gympie had already started to ease.

The latest models suggest the Granville Bridge is likely to remain open.

IMPORTANT: Sandbagging stations set up as heavy rain continues  

According to BOM, no significant rainfall is expected in the next few days.

Minor flooding is occurring along the lower reaches of Tinana Creek.
