HERVEY BAY teenager Jaden Hardy celebrated his 16th birthday in style, winning gold at the Australian Scooter Association Championships in Melbourne.

Jaden secured first place in the Under 16 category on Sunday, May 8.
The St James Lutheran College student’s exploits at the competition earned him a Golden Ticket to compete in the World Titles in Arizona, US in October.
Jaden’s younger brother Jedd also performed well, placing 8th in the Under 13 age group.

The siblings had qualified for the championships in Melbourne after coming first and second in the Queensland Championships in Brisbane in April.
Their mother, Marjo said prior to the national competition in Victoria this month that the boys are extremely dedicated to their sport.

“To be at their level takes lots of practice. The boys love riding, whether it’s at the local skateparks, at home or other skateparks – their scooters travel with us wherever we go,” she said.
