SANDBAGGING stations are now open for concerned residents wanting to prepare for the evolving weather event.
Despite the region being lashed by rain, major flooding is not expected at this stage.

The latest warning from the Bureau of Meteorology said the Mary River was expected to stay below the minor flood level (5m) today.
The river in Tiaro is expected to reach the minor flood level of 6m this evening.

Council said yesterday river levels were unlikely to reach those recorded earlier this year and did not expect to install the flood levee system in the Maryborough CBD.
However, the penstock gate system is being used underground.
