THE Fraser Coast has a new Deputy Mayor.

Councillor Paul Truscott was elected to the role at today’s council meeting – replacing Councillor Darren Everard.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council confirmed the development in a short statement, saying Council appoints the position annually.
Cr Everard was thanked for his service as Deputy Mayor, a position he had held for the past four years.
Mayor George Seymour congratulated Cr Truscott on his new position.
He praised Cr Everard for doing an excellent job in the role for the past four years.

“[Cr Everard] has provided a great model for future occupants of this public office,” he said on Facebook.

But why? I’m ambivalent to Darren (nothing personal Darren) but if it’s not broken… So why was it broken? None of the usual comments from Darren about wanting to spend more time with his family. It’s not that there isn’t much transparency- there’s none at all.
