RECENT heavy rains have seen Lenthall’s Dam reach capacity, just a few weeks after strict Level 3 water restrictions were implemented in Hervey Bay.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council said the dam reached 100 per cent capacity about 4am on Saturday morning.

The storage facility dropped below 50 per cent recently, prompting Council to implement Level 3 restrictions for areas serviced by that Hervey Bay supply network.
Taps were tightened in areas stretching from Burrum Heads and Howard across to River Heads.
But heavy bouts of rain in the catchment areas have helped replenish the dam.

Level 1 water restrictions are now in place across the entire Fraser Coast region.
Teddington Weir, which supplied Maryborough and surrounding areas, was sitting at 104.7 per cent as of Friday, 26 November 2021.
