The Fraser Coast Regional Council said the dam reached 100 per cent capacity about 4am on Saturday morning.

The storage facility dropped below 50 per cent recently, prompting Council to implement Level 3 restrictions for areas serviced by that Hervey Bay supply network.

Taps were tightened in areas stretching from Burrum Heads and Howard across to River Heads.

But heavy bouts of rain in the catchment areas have helped replenish the dam.
