The recreational facility is expected to be completed next year.

National Sales and Marketing Director for Serenitas Marlene Cumming said the clubhouse would be an extension of residents’ homes and a place to make great memories.

The clubhouse will feature tennis courts, bowling greens, a pool and spa, gym, dining areas and a library – among a host of other features.

Residents, resort manager John Andrews and Hervey Bay MP Adrian Tantari participated in a sod turning ceremony at the site this morning.

Mr Tantari said it was great to see companies like Serenitas and homeowners investing in Hervey Bay.

“Developments like these are good for the local economy. They help create jobs and provide apprentices with much-needed training opportunities.”

Mr Tantari was impressed by the list of clubhouse facilities that would be available upon completion.

“These resorts are not just about lifestyle. They keep seniors active, which keeps you healthy and enjoying life,” he said.
