LEVEL 3 water restrictions are now a thing in Hervey Bay.

Residents from areas stretching from Burrum Heads and Howard to River Heads are tightening their taps to save water.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council implemented Level 3 water restrictions on the Hervey Bay supply network today.

Mayor George Seymour said not enough rain had fallen in the correct areas.

As a result, Lenthall’s Dam is currently sitting at below 50 per cent capacity.

If you’re unsure whether your home is serviced by the Hervey Bay supply network and if you should be cutting back your water use even further, Council has released a nifty feature on its website to identify your property’s status.

By clicking on this link, you will be taken the Council’s water restrictions page.

Scroll down to the map feature on the page and enter your address in the search bar and click enter.

The map then zones in on your address and shows whether you should be operating under Level 3 or Level 2 water restrictions.

Maryborough and surrounding areas remain on Level 2 water restrictions.
