THE Fraser Coast’s two Bunnings stores have been included in the Queensland Government’s pop-up vaccination clinic program this weekend.

Residents wanting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will be able to do so at the Hervey Bay and Maryborough stores. Opening hours and extra information will be made available closer to the time.

In total, some 33 pop-up vaccination clinics will be held across the sunshine state to increase access to the vaccine.
Health Minister Yvette DÁth said Queensland Health was working hard to reach as many corners of the state as possible through targeted pop-up clinics.
“Following the success of the pop-up vaccination clinics at 18 high schools last weekend, we’re branching out to offer access to the vaccine where Queenslanders already are – we are bringing the vaccine to them,” the Minister said.
“So not only can you get the vaccine at established Queensland Health vaccination centres, GPs, pharmacies and outreach clinics – you will also be able to get your jab at one of 33 Bunnings stores this weekend.
“We’re hoping tradies, renovators, DIY regulars, casual shoppers and those there for the sausage sizzle will all come forward to get vaccinated – and we thank Bunnings for their help to get these sites operational.
“If you see a vaccination clinic at your local Bunnings and haven’t yet been vaccinated, please walk in and get the jab.”

Bunnings Managing Director Mike Schneider said they were pleased to help Queensland Health with the rollout of community vaccinations by hosting the hubs in the store car parks.
“We hope it makes accessing vaccinations as easy and convenient as picking up an item for a weekend DIY project,” Mr Schneider said.
Anyone aged 12 and over is now eligible for the Pfizer vaccine at all Queensland Health vaccination locations.
The Pfizer vaccine is available at Queensland Health vaccination sites, the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are available at participating GPs and the AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines are available at participating community pharmacies.
