He said SplashSide would be open from 7.30am on Wednesday, 15 September.

“Just in time for the school holidays,” said Cr Sanderson.

The facility was closed recently to allow for some teething issues to be repaired.

New anti-slip and anti-graffiti coatings have been applied throughout the water park.

The Fraser Coast Regional Council said at the time the park would be out of action for up to five weeks and that the goal was to have the park re-opened by 25 September – before the summer rush.

Meanwhile, WetSide in Hervey Bay is also scheduled to re-open on Wednesday following its closure for winter maintenance.
