The player has returned from his third year of representing South Queensland in the seventh annual North Queensland v South Queensland intrastate clash in Cairns last month.
He was one of two players selected from the Wide Bay region.
“I was excited to be selected again, believing it is a reward for my efforts in the local competition,” Schlein said.
Schelin was not expecting the award and was shocked when contacted.
“I was a bit shocked, but I am proud to receive the award and for being recognised for my efforts,” he said.
