THE Fraser Coast is among the hottest destinations for Queenslanders looking to secure holiday homes so they can put up their feet after another year in the office or classroom.

New data from Stayz suggests Australians are beginning to plan their Christmas and summer holidays much earlier.

The holiday rental website said the demand for holiday homes remained high when looking ahead to the summer break.
The winter holidays were put on hold for many Australians after new COVID-19 outbreaks forced some restrictions back into play.

Stayz travel expert Simone Scoppa said many Aussies are now booking their holiday homes more than six months in advance.
That’s twice as long as traditional booking trends ahead of the Christmas and summer high season.

She said people were also planning to travel closer to home, with hyper local destinations in high demand.
“Beach getaways are still top of the list for where Aussie travellers are booking for December to kick off their summer holidays. We suspect planning and booking a quintessential Aussie beach Christmas is giving Aussies something to look forward to after what is proving another challenging year.”
