Aldridge Head of Music Adam Hodgkinson said at the time that more than 40 musicians would mentor students as they rehearse for the concert.

Mr Hodgkinson, a former Aldridge student himself, said the music celebration was one of the events he remembered fondly when looking back at his days at school.

With the number of students taking part and audience interest increasing, the event outgrew the Aldridge State High School premises several years ago and moved to the Brolga.

“The event has been sold out for the past four years and it has really become something the school and community look forward to.”

Mr Hodgkinson said many of the students who get involved in the school’s music program eventually enter the industry as professionals.

Mr Hodgkinson said the showcase’s reputation is well-respected within music circles.

The majority of the mentors who get involved are former Aldridge students and many travel significant distances to give back.
