THE new roundabout along Main Street in Nikenbah is already having a positive impact on traffic flow through the area, but its equally impressive from the sky.
The Fraser Coast Regional Council recently released aerial footage of the now completed project.

The $3.4-million roundabout was the final part of a staged development of Main Street from the Charlton Esplanade to Booral Road.
Division 8 Councillor Denis Chapman said earlier this year the roundabout would provide a safer and smoother journey through one of Hervey Bay’s busiest intersections.

“Main Street has always been one of the main access points to Hervey Bay and a north-south artery. It now services the growing southern suburbs, taking even more traffic into the city and we expect traffic volumes on Main Street to continue to increase,” Cr Chapman said at the time.

“More vehicles are also using Maggs Hill Road as the suburbs around the Fraser Coast Anglican College continue to grow and the intersection is the main access to the Nikenbah Transfer Station and recycling centre.”
