Start the morning off the right way with the “Benny King” of the Bay

IT’S already known across the Fraser Coast as having the best brunch in town, but Sea Breeze Café in Hervey Bay is on a new mission to secure the accolade of offering the best start to the day – especially now that the cooler months are beginning to roll in.

A hot cup of coffee, warm laughter among friends and a choice of Sea Breeze Café’s four famous eggs Benedict dishes is enough to get anyone’s day off on the right foot.

Owner Robert Koppes said he is definitely the “Benny King” of the Bay.

He believes the variety offered by Sea Breeze Café is second to none, adding that the Mexican eggs Benedict is quickly becoming a favourite among the café’s regulars.

Other options include the bacon, the mushroom and the salmon eggs Benedict.

“Our eggs Benny dishes really standout because we make our own sauce and each serving is prepared with loads of love,” he said.

And the best part, if you get out of bed a little later than usual over the next month or two because the winter chill makes you press snooze for another 15 minutes, Sea Breeze Café’s all-day breakfast menu means your favourite Benny is always available.

You’ll also definitely want to take advantage of the ongoing seniors’ special.

Sea Breeze Café offers seniors $10 breakfast and lunch specials – available every day from 7.30am with a new addition to the menu.

Just make sure you book a table first to avoid disappointment.

And they don’t just produce breakfast royalty. Robert and his wife Rose, spent 15 years adventuring in central Australia, while working they were learning about and collecting Aboriginal art.

“We are starting to display some of the authentic artwork that we have collected over the years,” said Robert.

“It adds an extra dimension to the café and we love talking about it all. So, if you want to experience some art from central Australia, grab a cup of coffee and walk around looking at what is already up on the walls.”

To learn a little more about each piece, call Robert over for a friendly chat – he’s always keen to share some of the stories he picked up on his adventures.
