The more things change, the more they stay the same

THE financial year is winding down and small, medium and large businesses will soon begin focusing on their taxes, while also planning their marketing strategies and budgets for the next 12 months.

The great news for businesses is that advertising rates at Good News Fraser Coast will not be increasing over the next year.

While the website has grown at a rapid rate over the past few months and social media engagement is on the up, it is important for us to remain accessible to as many potential advertisers as possible – especially small, locally owned enterprises.

As a new small business, we know and understand the difficulties that many sole traders, independent work-from-home moms and dads and start-ups are facing on a daily basis.

And we want to be there to help local businesses.

The four months since Good News Fraser Coast went live have been interesting to say the least.

We had to negotiate the stand-off between Facebook and Australian news outlets after just a few weeks on the job. Luckily for the industry, the ban lifted and things returned to normal relatively quickly.

We formed a partnership with the premier sports news outlet on the Fraser Coast.

Businesses are offered discounted rates if they choose to advertise across both Good News Fraser Coast and FC Sports Media.

Most importantly, the number of articles and original content pieces posted on Good News Fraser Coast has steadily increased each month.

This is a great sign for the business, as people are reaching out to us to tell their stories, while they’re also taking the time to read those that have already been written.

Pageviews and visitor numbers are on the up, meaning advertiser branding is being seen more often and by more people.

The number of available advert spaces on the homepage and article category pages will also remain limited to ensure your banner is not lost in the fight for reader attention.

The Business Directory – which is already found on the first page of Google if you search for ‘Fraser Coast business directory’ – is also growing and attracting more hits every week. And at just $15 a month, it works out at around 50 cents a day to have your branding on the page.

Not bad at all.
