THE Fraser Coast’s annual Business and Tourism Awards are back!
The showpiece took a forced hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic but the region’s best businesses and tourism operators will be honoured again this year at the Beach House Hotel on November 5.
Entries officially opened today.
Now in its ninth year, the Fraser Coast Business and Tourism Awards provide an opportunity for business and tourism enterprises to be recognised as the most successful in the region.
In addition to the awards, local operators and businesspeople will be able to mingle and reflect on what has been an extremely tough 12 months.
General Manager of Fraser Coast Tourism and Events Martin Simons said the awards were an opportunity for businesses to measure themselves against their direct competitors and a chance to be recognised for excellence amongst industry peers.
The evening also recognises innovation and encourages young achievers to network with their peers.
Applications will be sought in 25 award categories ranging from tourism, healthcare, manufacturing, customer service, non-profit and retail, among others.
Businesses selected as consecutive winners in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 years will be inducted into the Hall of Fame, which means they will have to stand down for the next three years.
A panel of six judges will undertake the gruelling process of evaluating each submission to decide the winners.
Hervey Bay and Maryborough Chambers of Commerce, Fraser Coast Tourism and Events board members, a Sunshine Coast University lecturer, and a Professor will take part in this important judging process.
The Business and Tourism Awards submission training opportunities will be announced in the coming weeks with entries expected to close on September 6.
