THE Fraser Coast Regional Council is on the lookout for 12 young people to participate in the Fraser Coast Youth Advisory Council.

People interested in getting involved much be aged between 12 and 24.

According to the Fraser Coast Regional Council website, the role of the Fraser Coast Youth Advisory Board is to “provide strategic direction and youth leadership to support and seek youth views and opinions about the community in which they live and actively engage young people in developing solutions.”
It sets out to achieve youth views in development and implementation of local strategy or policy to address issues of concern, opportunities and drive positive change.

The council meets monthly and aims to:
- Provide a platform where young people can voice opinions and concerns on behalf of their peers.
- Encourage peer engagement among young people.
- Assist, support and deliver Fraser Coast youth projects.
- Provide an opportunity for Youth Advisory Councillors to have a better understanding of Local Government processes and an understanding of the three levels of government.
Meetings alternate between Maryborough and Hervey Bay.
