Participants will raise funds and create awareness around mental health on the world’s largest sand island on Sunday, July 4.

The event is being organised by Hervey Bay mental health activist Melanie Bragg.

All money raised by the event will go to Mindfull Aus.

Mindfull Aus is all about equipping individuals in high-risk communities with the necessary skills, strategies and techniques so they can not only get by and cope, but lead healthy, happy and fulfilling lives.

Melanie said the event will be limited to 40 participants who – if selected – will be able to raise money for Mindfull Aus while exploring K’gari and listening to award winning keynote speaker Matt Runnalls.

Matt is the CEO and founder of Mindfull Aus.

Applications to take part in the charity walk close on Monday, April 26.

Melanie said the event was made possible by Tasman Venture as well as dedicated volunteers.
