Fraser Coast Councillor David Lewis said Piers Lane, one of the greatest pianists Queensland has ever produced, will perform Franz Liszt’s first concerto for piano and orchestra.

“Liszt was one of the geniuses of the piano in the 19th century, but he also knew how to share the stage with an orchestra, and this work is a spectacular showcase for pianists and orchestral musicians alike,” Cr Lewis said.

The concert will finish with a suite of music from Igor Stravinsky’s ballet The Firebird, which tells the story of a prince who is aided by an enchanted bird.
